San Benito

Every culture has something remarkable, something that is a unique characteristic which is treasured and celebrated by the people.

With our new collection we want to celebrate our Venezuelan heritage, which is a racial mix of Indigenous, European and African. The result of the discovery of America by Europeans.

This racial diversity has shaped our way to enjoy life, the way we celebrate our faith and happy moments and the way we interact with others regardless of race or religious beliefs.

The Celebration of San Benito de Palermo, a catholic saint born as a slave, is the perfect example of this heritage. Carolina was raised in a region where San Benito is celebrated. A religious celebration with a notorious African influence present with the drums and words used to dance and venerate the saint. As a child, she used to participate in the celebration with her family.

A very frenetic celebration under the bright sun of the streets of Cabimas, where the saint is carried, danced, touched and showered with rum in a way to pay for the promises of the people or to ask for favours and miracles.

Bright and colourful beads are used to create the pieces of this collection. We curated carefully each one of the semiprecious gemstones used: Diopside, Agate, Black Spinel, Labradorite, Quartz, Apatite, Moonstone, Natural Spinel, Amethyst, Carnelian, Honey Calcite and Sunstone. All of them mixed with different materials like 14Kt gold filled, 24Kt gold plated Japanese beads, metallic and galvanized Japanese beads and silk cords.

Happy and colourful pieces designed and made specially for you to enjoy.
