Alijuna is a word in Wayuunaiki (the indigenous Wayuu people’s language better know as Guajiros) that means any person or object that is not Wayuu.
Carolina Montero, the designer and creator of Alijuna, finds the inspiration in her Venezuelan heritage, the Caribbean, nature and her multicultural experiences. Every collection has the name of a place in Venezuela, a meaning, a representation of her feelings and experiences during her trips.
The Alijuna jewelry is unique and exclusive, full in small artisanal details with a modern and elegant look and a mix of high quality materials from around the world like gemstones, Japanese beads, gold plated metals, cotton and silk threads with bright and colorful combinations. Each Alijuna piece is handmade by Carolina in Calgary taking care of every detail to obtain a flawless look.
